The Truth about Cats and Dogs! (in our house at least!)

I sometimes have people who want to adopt a cat- but have a dog in the home. In my experience- cats and dogs can not only co-exist; but can actually enjoy each others company!!

Please email VFRgrl@yahoo.com for more information on any of the kittens!!!

Of course, this depends on your dog (age, breed, history) and the cat; there are lots of great articles about introducing your dog to cats on the internet.

All of my foster kittens have been around dogs; Our adult French Bulldog who is no longer with us, our French Bulldog puppy Oscar, our foster dog Lexi who is a 60# Husky/Greyhound mix; and our Boston Terror (I mean terrier) Bugsy who is 15#

CASEY HAS BEEN ADOPTED to a home where a DOG is his best friend and companion!!! Casey loved to play with Oscar- he runs after Oscar and lets Oscar chase him and sometimes drag him by the scruff of his neck. Casey also loves to snuggle with Oscar in his bed, on the couch, and in the mornings will get in our bed with Oscar before breakfast.

If you are looking for a cat who will play with your dog, and occassionally sleep and snuggle next to him, I would suggest Jack: Jack loves to play with the dogs, and sleep next to them. He is mischievious with the dogs (jumping out to scare them, trying to sneak and steal their food) so Jack should only go to a home where your dog has been exposed to cats before- as he thinks dogs are to play with, not run from!!

Bugsy and JACK :

BAYLISS HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

Bayliss would hang out with the dogs SOMETIMES, but prefers the company of the other cats. Will play with Oscar about 50% of the time and 50% of the time lets Oscar know he doesn't want to play.

Haga will SOMETIMES lay on the bed with the dogs (preferably with his brother JT), will walk in the room with the dogs, but in general ignores the dogs and will run away if they try to play with him.

JT loves to snuggle next to the dogs- but if they want to play at all, he leaves the room. JT would be a great friend to a low-key dog who doesn't want to play or chase. JT is the most tolerant cat to other animals.
